We wrapped up the 2024 US Open with an unforgettable experience at our Raise the Bar event in NYC, in partnership with Dove and Venus Williams. The theme of the day? Confidence. Studies show that low body confidence is the top reason young girls leave sports. That’s why Dove teamed up with Venus Williams to create a limited-edition beauty bar in tennis green , supporting their body confidence sports curriculum. This initiative perfectly aligns with our mission to empower Black women and girls through PLAY!
Our event featured mini tennis clinics, bracelet-making with Little Words Project, sports bras from Bras for Girls, photo ops with creative installations, delicious food, and honey deuce mocktails. A highlight was the engaging conversation between Venus Williams, Dre Brown, and our co-founder Virginia Thornton, where young attendees asked thought-provoking questions about sports and confidence. We learned as much from them as they did from our panel.
