FAMU Girls Day
Florida A&M University (FAMU)
Tallahassee, Florida
In partnership with USTA Florida and FAMU, we hosted an inspiring All-Girls Tennis Camp on the FAMU Women’s Tennis courts, bringing together 40 enthusiastic young players as part of USTA’s Women in Tennis Initiative. This engaging four-hour event aimed to equip girls with confidence, resilience, and leadership skills both on and off the court.
The day began with introductions and a warm welcome from USTA, FAMU Women’s Tennis, and BGTC’s Coach Ness, setting the stage for a day filled with skill-building, camaraderie, and mentorship. Guided by Coach Ness and the FAMU Women’s Tennis team, the girls participated in activities that emphasized fundamentals, teamwork, and self-confidence, creating a dynamic environment where every participant could thrive.
In addition to tennis drills, the girls had opportunities to connect and build friendships through group activities and a panel discussion with coaches and players. Here, they heard firsthand how tennis can open doors, build character, and inspire lifelong success.
FAMU Girls Day was an empowering experience, leaving each participant with enhanced skills, newfound friendships, and a strengthened belief in their potential as future leaders.
