Imani Brooks has been playing tennis since 2014. Imani first moved to the DMV in 2020 and recently returned after a year away. She has experience as a volunteer coach for the Halifax County High School Girls’ Tennis team. She has additional experience with students as a writing tutor and a Constitutional Literacy teaching fellow. Imani’s favorite tennis players are Naomi Osaka and Frances Tiafoe. When Imani is not coaching, she is working at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, volunteering with DC Abortion Fund, or watching the West Wing.

Originally from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Miranda grew up playing tennis and currently resides in New York. She earned her B.A. in Economics and Studio Art with a Digital Media Concentration from Smith College, graduating in May 2024. She was an integral member of the Smith College Varsity Tennis Team, earning spots on the ITA All Sportsmanship and ITA All Academic Teams.
She also volunteered as an assistant singles player-coach at Moravian Academy, helping the team reach the PIAA District and State Championships.
As an African and Asian American woman, Miranda is passionate about expanding tennis to communities of color and encouraging participation in the sport of all levels and ages. Miranda currently works in financial marketing and volunteers with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) on DEI initiatives.

Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, Brittany Hall brings her passion for community health, education, and tennis to Black Girls Tennis Club. An alum of both Norfolk State University and Eastern Virginia Medical School, Brittany is deeply committed to supporting the Hampton Roads community, both through her work as a real estate agent helping families build wealth and as a tennis coach. A lifelong tennis player who competed at NSU, she now shares her love for the game as a coach at BGTC and as a Tennis Pro at Tidewater Tennis Center. When she’s not on the court or helping clients, Brittany enjoys relaxing on her pontoon in Broad Bay or spending time at home with her cat, Pepper.

Leondra joined BGTC in 2024. She is ecstatic to be involved in a tennis community in Hampton Roads. Leondra played tennis in high school in Sharpsburg, GA and for Hampton University’s club (intramural) tennis. She is a 2018 Hampton University graduate and from Newnan, GA. She's lived in Hampton Roads for 3 years now. When Leondra is not playing tennis on the weekends, you can catch her on WTKR News 3’s during the week where she reports on the latest crime and breaking news.

Alexandria S. Henson is a St. Louis, MO, native with experience in both competitive and recreational tennis. She began her tennis journey at age 12 with The Net Rushers Community Tennis Association in Ferguson, MO. As a freshman, Alexandria became the No. 1 singles seed on her high school varsity tennis team, earning accolades such as the St. Louis Suburban North All-League Award and 2nd place in 1st Flight Singles. She has competed in USTA Missouri Valley Tournaments and the Mid-Tac Tournament in Indiana. Her achievements also include being a national recipient of the USTA/NJTL Arthur Ashe Essay Contest.
In addition to tennis, Alexandria is a cultural entrepreneur and music industry professional. A proud alumna of Hampton University, she founded Black Girls Love Vinyl, a community dedicated to preserving the art of love of collecting vinyl records. Alexandria is excited to bring her love and dedication to the wellness of tennis to BGTC in New York City.

Kaylah been passionate about tennis since she first picked up a racket at the age of four. Competing in USTA tournaments starting at 12 years old, she earned a strong ranking in both the Mid-Atlantic region and the state of Maryland. Her dedication to the sport led her to play Division I tennis for the United States Naval Academy, where she worked her way up to the top singles and doubles positions by senior year.
Throughout her collegiate career, she demonstrated consistency and excellence, rewriting the program's record books by becoming the all-time doubles wins leader in Navy's history with 72 victories. Beyond her personal achievements, Kaylah has always valued giving back to the tennis community that shaped her. She has coached players ranging from young beginners at age four to adults, sharing her experience and passion for the sport.
Kaylah’s commitment to both playing and coaching reflects my belief in fostering growth, development, and a love for tennis in others.

Samara is a student at Nansemond River High School. She’s in the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and enjoys playing tennis in her free time.

Victoria Mitchell has been a dedicated coach at Black Girls Tennis Club since 2023, bringing her passion for tennis and her commitment to empowering young female athletes. With over 23 years of experience playing tennis recreationally in Virginia Beach, Victoria serves as an Assistant Coach for the Varsity Girls Tennis Team at Kellam High School, where she focuses on developing players' skills, sportsmanship, and self-confidence. She has also captained USTA Junior Team Tennis at Old Dominion University, demonstrating her leadership and teamwork abilities.

Ashley has been a coach with Black Girls Tennis Club since 2023.

Alyssa resides in New York City and currently serves as a Coach with Black Girls Tennis Club. She learned to play tennis at age 6, participated in USTA tournaments across Southern California and played Varsity tennis for her high school team. Alyssa loves her career in sales, spending time on the courts, traveling, trying new restaurants and hanging out with friends and family.

Caira was born and raised in Long Island, New York. She not only attended the illustrious Hampton University (the real HU), but also played on the Women’s Tennis Team.
